Cratered acne: Ice-pick scars from acne require deep skin treatment as provided by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Laser treatment may help. There are no topical creams or ablatives that will help.

Improvement in scars: Is possible, but once a scar is present, it can never be totally removed. Options for treatment depend on the age of the scars, presence of active acne, depth of scars, other skin conditions which may be present, etc. Treatments can include lasers, peels, scar revision, dermabrasion, topical treatments, etc. Seek a facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist with experience in that area.
