A member asked:

Is chemo really an effective cancer treatment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Chemotherapy is very effective for treatment of some cancers. It can be curative in some cases and prolong life in others. However, chemotherapy, due to its nature, is toxic, and any treatment with chemotherapy should involve a discussion of risks and benefits (and possible outcomes) before starting.
