Plan B is NOT an: abortion pill. It is used to prevent pregnancy when a problem with birth control has occurred. Plan B One-Step is up to 89 % effective when taken within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex. It can reduce chance of pregnancy by up to 95% if used within 24 hours. It continues to reduce the risk of pregnancy up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex, but is less effective as time passes.

Yes and no: You should not need any medication right after an abortion. However, if you have unprotected intercourse after an abortion, Plan B is safe.

It can be taken: after an abortion. But if you just had an abortion & had unprotected sex again, you really need to look into a consistent form of birth control.
