See below: Treatment of hs is difficult if it is chronic and extensive because of multiple deep seated sites of infection. Oral antibiotics based on culture results and local moist heat to establish drainage are helpful. Surgical drainage is needed for large abscesses. In severe cases surgical unroofing of sinus tracts and radical excision may be needed. Treatment with tnf inhibitors may be effective.
