Varies widely. : The symptoms & signs of renal insufficiency vary widely. It depends on the degree of kidney underfunction, the onset, the cause, & the duration. If gradual, there may be no initial symptoms. Sometimes there is blood in the urine & flank pain. Ultimately, hypertension, swelling & uremia results: anorexia, nausea, vomiting, pericarditis, peripheral neuropathy, & central nervous system abnormalities.
