NO!!!: Absolutely not, the makers of depo-provera state in the package insert that the medication is contraindicated in those who have had DVT , pulmonary embolism , stroke and superficial phlebitis. If you have had blood clots in your legs, lungs, heart, brain or anywhere else you should not use depo-provera or birth control pills. Contact you doctor for other options.

Contraindicated: Dr. Toppin is absolutely right. If you have or have had a dvt, you should not get a Depo-Provera injection.
