Grape allergy/Asian: It's possible to have allergic reactions from drinking wine. The alcohol is not typically the reason for these reactions. Grapes in wine may be the cause. in Asian people, a deficiency of the enzyme, aldehyde dehydrogenase, can result in flushing with some wheezing, after drinking alcohol.
