A member asked:

Is a lapriscopy biopsy usually more accurate than a needle biopsy?

No.: The sole purpose of a biopsy is to determine whether a growth is benign or malignant. In general, the best method of biopsy is the least invasive and/or painful route. Depending on the location of this growth, it may be easiest to biopsy via ultrasound-guidance, ct-guidance, direct palpation, or, if necessary, surgery (such as laparoscopy).

Sometimes: It depends on what is being biopsied and the amount of tissue sent for evaluation.
