A member asked:

Can you get influenza from a influenza vaccine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not from shot: The flu shot is made up killed virus, there is no way you can get influenza from the vaccine. People who claim they got the 'flu' are confused. Vomiting/diarrhea are not influenza; it takes about 2 wks after vaccine to develop immunity, so if you get influenza in this time frame, you were exposed before the shot. Flumist is live, weakened influenza and may cause cold-like symptoms.
