A member asked:

What factors can affect the heart rate of adolescents?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal resting heart rate for teens 13-19 is the same as adults - 60 -100. There are some people you regularly have heart rate below 60 that is still normal, however, a resting heart rate greater than 85 should be looked at. It could be caused by anxiety, or it also could be related to high thyroid function and needs to be tested. Of course, just like adults, the heart rate goes up with activity.
