What are the risks of taking prednisone and albutoral when you have copd?

Side Effects: Albuteol is fairly well tolerated but can be associated with tremor, fast heart rate and nervousness. Short courses of Prednisone has similar side effects. Long term Prednisone has many side effects including hypertension, mood changes, cataract formation, high blood sugar readings and weakening of bone density.

Prednisone copd: Prednisone if used short term for acute exacerbations of COPD does not have too many harmful effects except it raises blood sugar and can cause gastritis and sometime bleeding from stomach.But long term use of predniosone can caue osteporosis, supresson of adrenals, weight gain, cushing syndrome, gastric bleeding and ulcer.Albuterol is short acting and safe, too much can cause low level of pattasium.
