Very Common: A pap smear early in pregnancy can cause light spotting. If you're not cramping or in pain i wouldn't worry. It's very common and you can also see this with vaginal intercourse. A pap smear will not cause a miscarriage so you can relax and let your pregnancy run it's course. The spotting can last over a week. If you continue to bleed, let your OB know so they can check with an ultrasound.
