Probably not!: Afrin used long enough can actually cause more problem to mom than baby! rhinitis medicamentosa or prolonged misuse of nasal vasoconstrictors can be hard to wean from ... Please see your OB or md to see if you need to be switch to a baby-friendly nasal meds! enjoy your pregnancy! regards!

Which Afrin (oxymetazoline)? : If its the decongestant free afrin (oxymetazoline), (oxymetazoline) you're fine. If its classic afrin (oxymetazoline), (oxymetazoline) you're hurting yourself, but not likely the baby. Rarely abuse of afrin (oxymetazoline) can raise the blood pressure of susceptible people, if your BP is normal, then all is ok with baby. Please see your doctor if you are abusing the afrin (oxymetazoline).

Rhinitis of pregnanc: It, is common in the last trimester to develop nasal congestion thought to be caused by placental growth factor. Topical nasal steroids can be helpful as can sudafed neither of which will harm your baby at this point to development. The steroid spray can also help you wean off the afrin. Speak to your obgyn first before trying these options.
