Take your vitamins: The most important thing is folate, (folic acid) since the defects found in children from people with gastric bypass could have been prevented with taking their vitamins. Congratulations- this is the type of weight gain that we weight loss surgeons applaud!

Work with your team: Congratulations on being pregnant! most likely your former need for bariatric surgery is not a current issue. Ask these questions to your OB doc, and work with that doc. Bring to them your operative report or details about your bariatric surgery. Monitoring and diet will likely be helpful during your pregnancy. Good luck.

Vitamins and more: Pregnancy after bariatric surgery has been shown to be safer with much less diabetes, blood pressure problems and full term babies. Great. But, you should take your vitamins, get vitamin blood levels(b1, b12, d, iron, mg) eat small frequent meals, and avoid sugars. You will do fine.
