Not the standard Rx : We don't use oral Prednisone to treat the lumbar facet disease. It is a type of osteoarthritis or wear and tear arthritis. Sometimes we can inject the facet joint. Your best treatment is physical therapy also.

Hard to Say: If the steroid works, it will take up to 2-3 days to notice the benefit. If you get little relief or no long lasting effect, i would consider seeing a spine specialist to address/evaluate your spine issues. Could be disc as well.
