Doctor can evaluate: If such symptoms don't resolve quickly, a primary care doctor can evaluate to see what's happening. Sometimes it is a stomach flu (viral) infection; other times it is gastritis (inflammation in the stomach, maybe due to acidity or h. Pylori infection). Also, forceful vomiting could have damaged the zone where the stomach connects to the esophagus, causing pain.
