Depends: There is no one medicine to take for migraine. And do you really have migraines? Many have migraines but don't know it & many others self-diagnose "migraines" who don't have them. A doctor can diagnose and classify your headaches and offer meds to prevent migraines &/or treat migraines when they happen. There is no 1 magic pill that everyone can take for headaches.

Tryptans and/or pain: If you have diagnosed with classical migraine the medicines called tryptans are the best meds and for some mild cases you may get relief with pain meds there are also meds can be taken to prevent attacks of migraine.
