Yes: Prior to implantation, alcohol has no effect on the next generation. Alcohol may be a precursor to the act of fertilizing an egg so be sure it is the right partner. After implantation, the egg is exposed to the mother's fluids, and alcohol has some degree of toxicity to the developing fetus and therefore should be avoided.
