See your doctor: Brcause of the importance of the thumb in the use of the hand, thumb fractures should be evaluated by your doctor to give you the best chance of a full recovery.

X-ray: You should have a x-ray of your thumb. A lot of thumb fractures can be treated without surgery. However there are some displaced and intraarticular fractures that require surgical intervention.
