Check TSH: Your thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) level needs to be checked first, and accordingly start on a reasonable dosage of thyroid supplement ( synthroid), then needs close follow up to titrate your dosage. Once a reasonable and stable dosage is found, you still will need to monitor the level every 6 months.
