Follow-up with Dr.: A person with salivary gland swelling (presumably due to infection or blockage) can follow-up with her ENT doctor or primary care doctor, to be sure that the recovery is going as expected. Sometimes additional treatment is needed. If symptoms are worrisome, and the patient cannot get in touch with her doctors, then she can go to the E.R. To be seen and treated.
