Simple, easy: There's really no one best way, the simplest way that works is the best. For a 21 year old without fertility issues, timed intercourse around mid-cycle is the starting point - if you have fairly regular periods. If not, you can improve your timing using a home opk, although they're not perfect. An obg, fertility doc, and many primary docs can also help you.

Stay healthy: Eat well, exercise, relax, stay positive. If no pregnancy after a year of trying, get a medical evaluation.

Sex: Pregnancy occurs when you have unprotected vaginal intercourse within 1-2 days before ovulation (release of egg from ovary). You can use home ovulation predictor to help time intercourse if needed. It will turn positive about 36 hours before ovulation.
