Hard to tell: Black spot on the gum very difficult to diagnose without a picture. Can you see the head of the wisdom tooth yet? Is the black spot near that? Maybe a cavity that is on the erupting wisdom tooth. Or is the spot just on the plain gum area? Has the spot just appeared or been there for a long time. Please see a dentist to rule out different causes.

Ask a Dentitst: You should go see your dentist to see what it may be, if you have had a silver/amalgam filling in the tooth in front of that area it could be a simple amalgam tatoo but your dentist can help you rule things out.
