A member asked:

What is floating stool caused by? do i need to see a dr about it? it's been going on for months now.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Floating stool: Stool floats based on the amount of buoyant material in it such as plant matter and more often fat and grease. A stool that is very fatty may be an indication of a malabsorption problem. Check with your doc to be sure.
