No: The cdc guidelines for treatment of chlamydia is one dose of zithromax 1 gram or 1 week of Doxycycline 100mg twice a day. Although Erythromycin is the same class of drug as zithromax, it has not been proven as an effective treatment. Zithromax is also safe during pregnancy.
