Symptoms and signs: Neurologist would be able to diagnose by signs and symptoms which are transient in tia. Ct scans and MRI cannot diagnose tia.

History: Tia symptoms are short lived, minutes to hours and should completely resolve in 24 hours. At your age ct and MRI are done to exclude tumor or bleeding. Other conditions that could be present would include migraine which usually has a more gradual presentation than tia.
