when seated, i move my left leg to the left and i feel a rubbing or popping in my spine. any ideas?

Facet joint popping: More than likely this is caused by popping of the little connecting joints of the vertebra called facets joints. It usually is no significance unless accompanied by pain. It is similar to cracking your knuckles.
