Why was D&C done?: If for a miscarriage, then your doctor must make sure that your HCG blood test numbers are coming down to zero. If for a gyn reason, then some irregular menses is normal until the lining of the uterus grows back. Warning signs of a problem include heavy bright red bleeding, increased pain or fever.
