Risks: As long as you and your wife are both monogamous you should not be at increased risk of std's. You still need to think about pregnancy prevention though.

That depends...: If you & spouse are monogamous - are you ready for pregnancy? If not, there are other options. Consider: oral contraceptives (“the pill”), vaginal ring, diaphragm, IUD, implant, patch.
