Genital herpes: So herpes infection caused by two different strains of virus. Herpes simplex-1 ( causes infection of mucous membranes in children, involves mouth, lips etc); herpes simplex -2 is responsible for stds in adults and children. Your doctor need to send the swab to lab for typing of virus.
