Bipolar recovery: Stability begets stability! strive to be consistent in various areas of your life, including consistent use of mood stabilizing medications, consistent follow up with psychiatrist and therapist, consistent sleep wake cycle, consistent/healthy diet, consistent exercise. Limit stress as you are able. Do not take on too much. Avoid substance use. Limit alcohol use. Take time for yourself.

Best treatment: For bipolar disorder, i strongly suggest that you work with a psychiatrist to make sure of the diagnosis first. Then certain medications may be helpful, including mood stabilizers as well as possibly others to support you as well. Psychotherapy can be useful in bipolar disorder too -- to ward off depressions, and also to learn to catch early warning signs of mania. Good luck to you!
