How long do you have to avoid driving after meniscus tear surgery?

Right side or left?: If it is your left knee, you can probably drive very shortly after surgery as long as you are not taking narcotic. If it is your right knee, it will be at least a week before you can drive, as it would be risky to have to hit the break too soon after surgery, and you would be a risk to yourself and everyone else on the road.
