Complex problem.: I'm sorry that your grandmother is experiencing what sounds like a resistant, possibly recurrent polymicrobial uti. Because her history is so complex, it cannot be answered in this forum, but i'd recomend seeing a urologist who specializes in female urology. A full history, workup, tests, pelvic exam, and possibly cystoscopy may be needed to determine the cause and guide treatment.

Unlikely mesh: She should be evaluated by a urogynecologist, gynecologist, or female-specific urologist. She should be evaluated for bladder cancer, however, if she is negative for cancer, then her history actually suggests that she needs vaginal estrogen therapy to rebuild the lining of the urethra/ bladder neck to help her body naturally fight off infection. This is common problem amongst menopausal women.
