Neuralgia: Your location may fit the anatomy of the greater occipital nerve, and could be a problem coming from where the neck and base of skull come together. Alternatively, this may be referred pain from neck arthritis. Focal occipital headaches may also be seen in thoracic outlet syndrome. Get a physical exam and then appropriate therapy.
