Diet, meds: If chronic, severe, recurrent, see doc. Generally we say to avoid fried, greasy, fatty foods, chocolate, coffee, tobacco, alcohol, citrus, acidic foods, peppermint, large meals, bending over after eating, tight garments, lying down for 2h after eating, eating for 2h before bed. Meds can include antacids, histamine blockers like zantac, (ranitidine) or proton pump inhibitors like prilosec. If symp continue c md.

Gerd: Your nutrition is very important and is one of the key factor to help you control your symptoms: avoid tomatoes, orange juice, greasy fried food, chocolate , dairy products, be gentle on your spices. Avoid ibuprofen, Aspirin and all NSAID as they will exacerbate your symptoms. Eat in small portions, Nexium (esomeprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor and can be prescribed by your doctor.
