PH changes: I've seen this in other patients. Likely due to ph changes in the vagina following menstruation. I would approach this from a homeopathic direction and try to encourage your natural vaginal flora. Changes in diet, exercise, alcohol and stress, can all affect the bacteria of the vagina. You can also try vaginal suppositories of lactobaccilli.

PH changes: Bacterisl vaginosis (bv) is a lot like a yeast infection. Its not something you catch. It occurs when bacteria (or yeast) that is already in the vagina begins to grow out of control. Lactobacilli (the good bacteria) in your vagina typically prevent this growth by keeping the vagina a little acidic (low ph). The blood from your period can temporarily raise the ph & make you more prone 2 infections.
