Irritation anatomy: There are very large superficial vessels in the front of everyone's nose. These vessels are easily opened by local trauma. Picking, dryness, infection, rubbing, tissues can all cause irritation and ultimately bleeding. It's always worse in the cold and dry air of winter. People with anatomic abnormalities of the nose such as septal deviation have worse bleeding problems.

Nosebleed: First, if the bleeding is still going on, hold pressure at the tip of the nose by squeezing the nostrils closed. You might have to hold pressure for 5-10 minutes before you blood forms a clot. If that doesn't work, you should really be seen in the emergency department. If it's an intermittent bleed, keep the inside of your nose moist with saline and vaseline. Still a problem, see an ent.
