Postoperative Ileus: Bloating is a common side effect of abdominal surgery, especially following acute appendicitis. If you are vomiting, unable to pass gas or move your bowels, having a fever, and/or having increasing pain, please call your surgeon. In the absence of any of these symptoms, try to limit your food intake and wait for your digestive system to get back to normal after which the bloating will resolve.

Nor sure...: What surgery that you had. An appendicostomy tube is a rare procedure placing an irrigation tube into the cecum possibly for irrigation purposes for severe constipation or impaction. An appendectomy is surgery for appendicitis. If you had an apoendicostomy irrigation tube placed, call your surgeon now with your concerns or troubles before anything gets worse.
