Depends: The effect of alcohol on the fetus depends both on amount of exposure per day & stage of pregnancy. Stopping at any point increases the chances for a better outcome. The fetal brain is one of the targets of alcohol effect & it continues to grow and develop well after birth. By stopping @ 10 wks, you improve the chance that brain can do well.Keep it up, i thank you for your courage.Good luck.

Can't be certain, : But kudos for doing the right thing by stopping all alcohol ingestion when pregnant. I highly recommend prenatal vitamins and regular pre-natal care with your OB throughout your pregnancy. That will assure the best outcome for your baby!

The horse is out of : The barn by then. All organ systems are formed from the 3rd thru 8th week after conception, during which time alcohol may cause major malformations. Brain development continues to be at risk throughout pregnancy, tho' types of malformations & functional deficits change. Since a fetal alcohol spectrum disorder may be present, mom needs support not to drink to cope & her OB needs to know.
