Common finding: Hiccups is thought to represent a wave of electrical stimulus through the breathing muscle that is somehow triggered by its position next to the babies stomach. It likely happened before birth & will continue off & on until baby grows longer. At some point the stomach moves down &away & quits setting off the spasm.
