No : Exposure to differin (adapalene) topical medication for acne is not associated with birth defects. Exposure to this medication is not a reason to terminate the pregnancy.

General rule: The medication in any lotion, liquid, ointment or gel that you might apply to your skin does not enter the blood in an amount that could reach baby. They will never be a reason to worry about baby. That is different from a drug you take by mouth or otherwise.
