Sleep apnea : Sweating during sleep can be caused from a variety of problems including sleep apnea, medication side effect, hormonal changes and infection. In my practice sweating is one of the physical signs of apnea (stopping breathing) so a sleep study would be very reasonable if the others above are ruled out.
