You need evaluation: The greatest risk is that you can have a blood clot also called a dvt.. You need to be seen to rule that out. Other causes can be pulled muscles, muscle tears, tendonitis, swelling from the knee - a baker's cyst. The risk of a DVT is the reason for an evaluation.

Get evaluated: You need to be examined by an orthpaedic surgeon. It maybe many things but blood clots are the potential worrisome issue with bad calf pain that needs to be ruled out first. Other issues are less worrisome but also cause pain.
