Probably muscle: At age 29 it's probably muscle pain or a cramp. It could be a heart rhythm issue or lung infection depending on other symptoms. If it continues, please see your doctor.

May possibilities: Worse with deep breath? Worse with movement? Worse with exercise? Affected by meals? It can be anything from costochondritis (rheumatism), to acid reflux, to serious issues like pleurisy, blood clots or your heart. Your age and risk factors would help narrow it down. Need to see Doc: We consider all the organs in that part of body, which is stomach, so you have to consider gastritis, peptic ulcer disease etc. Other organ is lung, so that pneumonia, pleurisy may be a problem if accompanied with fever, chills, sweats, cough and discolored sputum. It could be muscles, rib, cartilage. Hence, to find the proper cause, further work by doc is indicated.

A 46-year-old female asked:
Hello. I have this pain under my left breast in my ribcage. To breathe in a full breath is painful. What could this be?

Likely musculoskelet: Description sounds musculoskeletal especially if it can be reproduced w palpation. Pleuritic or pericarditic pain might also be a consideration for sharp pains on inspiration. Antiinflammatories usually help musculoskeletal causes, and doctor eval with cxr/echo might be needed to eval deeper areas of inflammation in lungs/pericardium.

A 57-year-old female asked:
My normal pulse rate is 73-78. Since having pericardial window 3 weeks ago rate has been 94-99. Still winded and pain under left breast. Why?

Depends. : There are many causes of pericardial effusion, some of which might require a window for treatment and/or prevention of recurrence. Depending on the underlying cause or possible complications, pain might occur/persist afterwards which can be worse with breathing and may therefore contribute to shortness of breath. I would recommend follow up with your physician.
