Depends: There are variations in form and intensity of acne and each require different approach. Topical salycilic acid based lotions ,retenoids , washes are most common, Topical or oral antibiotics are occasionally used. A vitamin A derivative is sometimes used in severe cystic acne. Treatment is based on exam and patients response to therapies involved.
