A member asked:

Can you tell me more about metanx for sfn in my feet? is this a vitamin? how much should be taken daily? what does it do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is a prescription: It is a combination of vitamin b6, B12 and l-methylfolate which is the active form of folic acid. When taking regular Folic Acid it takes 4 conversion steps to get into the active form. Many people are missing that last enzyme needed for the conversion. With l-methylfolate you bypass these conversion steps. It has shown to help increase the quantity and quality of small nerve fibers.
