PEG tube hygiene: There are lots of reasons for a less than pristine looking peg tube: 1) plastic fatigue where previously white or transparent tubing takes on a yellow hue with age; 2) staining of the tube with instilled foods; 3) reflux of material into the tube from a slow-emptying stomach; 4) partial tube occlusion making flushing incomplete; 5) drainage from peg site for a variety of reasons. Get it checked.
