RICE, medicines: Rest, ice, compression, elevation is the start of treating these acute injuries. Pills can also help. I would start with tylenol (acetaminophen) 500 to 1000 mg 3 to 4 times a day (generic Acetaminophen is fine). Anti-inflammatory drugs like Naproxen and Ibuprofen can also help.

Ice it and take an: Antiinflammatory. An ankle brace would also be a good idea. If pain persists see a doctor for x- rays. Sometimes accidents like this cause more damage than you initially think.
