A member asked:

How many cups of coffee should a pregnant woman drink during the week?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

0-1/day: Caffeine does cross the placenta. Here are recommendations from otis: http://www.Otispregnancy.Org/files/caffeine.Pdf most studies have shown that 1 cup of coffee/day does not seem to harm the fetus. Remember, if you stop drinking coffee abruptly, you may get rebound headaches from the lack of caffeine so tapering down w/half caffeine + half decaf may be wise.
