See doctor: Spontaneous hand swelling is not common. Working (especially above your head), pitching a ball, swimming can result in thrombosis (clot) in the subclavian vein, resulting in right chest pain and arm/hand swelling. Persistence of symptoms should make you want to see your doctor.
